Brazil Beach Buggy Adventure

Your journey along the north-east coast of Brazil begins on arrival in Natal, the City of Dunes. You cross the Rio Potengi heading north, with a first stop for a coconut along the way, before passing along Brazilian beaches to the beautiful dunes of Genipabu. Here you can toboggan and sandboard down the sloping dunes. You can also take a seated zipline from the top of the dune to the fresh waters below and even ride camels in the sand-dunes! Continuing north, you have the offshore reefs and the waters of Maracajau and Peroba, which make wonderful swimming and snorkelling stops before you arrive at Sao Miguel de Gostoso for the night.

Morning can bring a swim in the sea before setting off eastwards along this windy stretch of coastline, with kite-surfers and wind-surfers regularly seen in the waters. In Galinhos head out on a famous boat with a famous shark to explore the estuary, dunes and mangroves. The ride around the waters with Tubarao Junior has been featured on many Brazilian television programmes. You can watch or help as Tubarao proves the shark-like qualities he inherited from his father, catching fish, oysters, crustaceans, and other spectacular marine life native to the area, you can enjoy some of them afterwards for lunch at the end of a wonderfully relaxed Nordeste day out!

After leaving from Galinhos, the white sands of Areia Branca bring the chance for a morning swim before you cross the state border into Ceara at Tibau. With dunes and small rivers to cross by raft, the journey along the coast gives you plenty of time to appreciate the scenery. Ceara boasts of sun 365 days of the year, so you can guarantee plenty of it as you pass along the beaches during the afternoon until you arrive in Canoa Quebrada. This lively little town was a hippy hangout in the 1970s and developed into a popular tourist destination over the last couple of decades. Things have quietened down a little but there are still plenty of bars and nightlife.

After a little time to enjoy Canoa Quebrada in the morning, you continue north-west towards Fortaleza, the state capital of Ceara. The offshore winds help to keep you cool with regular opportunities to swim in the sea and perhaps snorkel at Morro Branco and Aguas Belas. After lunch you reach the city, passing the Beach Park complex and the Fortaleza beaches which attract tourists from all over Brazil. Your buggies will leave you at the airport, where you can say goodbye to your drivers and check-in for your flight away at the end of a wonderful North-East Brazil Beach-Buggy Adventure!
